Course Description

English 324 is an advanced literature seminar covering topics in British literature between 1700 and 1900. In the first 2006 summer term, the focus of the course will be Romantic British literature, using the term "Romantic" to define a period — 1786-1830, from Burns to Tennyson — as well as a set of themes and interests. Students will read novels and poems from poets of the era as well as more modern secondary texts about the period. The course is intended primarily for upperclass English majors and minors, but any student who has successfully completed the College Composition connector of the LAA general education curriculum may register. The course is an LAA Literature connector and can be used for credit toward the Women's Studies minor.
